Sadly, most people who work from home, can get so caught up in what they are doing, that they forget to take time out to exercise and 'smell the roses'!
Walk off 10 kilos (without even trying!)
When it comes to finding the best workout for shedding unwanted kilos, walking usually gets overlooked. Shunted out of the way by fat-burning, thigh-sculpting workouts from Zumba to Spin. A gentle walk around the block is what you do when you want to take it easy, right? Sometimes. But what if we told you that losing weight required nothing more than taking one step after the other. Walking is an integral part of our lives but the truth is, most of us fail to acknowledge it as a powerful tool for long-term weight loss. And that's too bad, because the human body was built and designed to move on two feet.
It's what the experts are telling us too: research shows that with 30 minutes of moderate daily exercise, you will live longer (and enjoy those years much more) than someone who sits around all day. You don't have to go from zero to 30 minutes at once, you can start right where you are, even if that's a 5 to 10-minute walk. If you've been waiting for the easiest weight loss plan ever (one that doesn't require making drastic changes) then this is your perfect fitness match. How do we know our walking program works? We tested it on 16 women, ranging in age from 31 to 61.
The results: almost all the women lost weight, dropping an average of 5kg each. In fact, one participant, aged 45, lost a whopping 12kg in 12 weeks. They also lowered their body fat percentages, dropped their blood pressure, and shed centimetres from their waistlines. The best news: not one of them followed a strict diet. They did, however, rethink their habits and emotions surrounding food, and adopted a few healthy eating tricks. Ready to get started? Then grab your sneakers and head on out there!
